This is shown by a representative YouGov survey of 4,022 people aged 18 and over. This should permanently clarify the legal situation for Sundays open for sale. In its 2009 decision, the Federal Constitutional Court referred to the Weimar Reich Constitution, which speaks of the “soul uprising” on Sunday. In Thuringia, there have been explicit regulations for small 24-hour shops for several months.
Furthermore, 43 percent favor more frequent Sunday openings, 50 percent reject them. In a similar YouGov survey just under a year ago, the rejection was greater. There is a maximum number of Sundays open for sale, which must be linked to an event.
